The Data Mining group is a section in the Applied Computation Laboratory, Computer Science Department, Bogor Agricultural University.
The Data Mining Group is focused on analyzing large dataset using the data mining approach, especially spatio-temporal data mining. Works on developing and improving data mining algorithms are also conducted in order to find the appropriate solutions for data mining tasks including clustering, classification, association rule mining, sequential pattern mining and co-location pattern mining on spatio-temporal data. In addition to data mining, the Data Mining Group is doing works in data warehousing and online analytical processing (OLAP) to manage large historical datasets.
The current focus of our work is applying spatio-temporal data mining approach on forest fire especially in peatland in Sumatera and Kalimantan Islands. Our objective is to develop an early warning system for peatland fires occurrence in the study area. The system is essential in peatland fires prevention in order to minimize the damage due to the peatland fires.
